Uses of RABIARK 20 IV
A proton pump inhibitor, which suppresses gastric acid production more completely and for longer than any other class. The intravenous form is used where the oral route is unavailable or where acid suppression needs to be immediate.
In intensive care it appears in two distinct roles: treating acid related disease, and stress ulcer prophylaxis in ventilated patients. It is one of the highest volume injectables in any hospital.
- Bleeding peptic ulcer, and prevention of rebleeding
- Gastro oesophageal reflux disease where the oral route is unavailable
- Stress ulcer prophylaxis in critically ill patients
- Zollinger Ellison syndrome and other hypersecretory states
