Uses of Clinark-600
A lincosamide, active against Gram positive cocci and anaerobes, and useful where a beta lactam cannot be used. It penetrates bone and abscess cavities well.
It also suppresses bacterial toxin production, which is why it appears in regimens for necrotising soft tissue infection and toxic shock alongside a cell wall active agent rather than instead of one.
- Anaerobic infection, including intra abdominal and pelvic sepsis
- Skin and soft tissue infection, including necrotising infection as part of a regimen
- Bone and joint infection
- Serious Gram positive infection in penicillin allergic patients
