Uses of Azilase-500
A macrolide, covering atypical respiratory pathogens such as Legionella, Mycoplasma and Chlamydophila that beta lactams do not reach, along with useful Gram positive activity.
In hospital practice a macrolide is most often added to a beta lactam in community acquired pneumonia so that the atypicals are covered while the beta lactam handles the typical organisms.
- Community acquired pneumonia, usually combined with a beta lactam
- Atypical respiratory infection
- Some sexually transmitted infections, as directed
- Skin and soft tissue infection caused by susceptible organisms
